Large wooden Amish barn star with a distressed and weathered finish. Can be hung from the country twine on the reverse side, or free-standing as part of a focal feature around the home. Barnstars were used in the United States during the 18th century and as late as 1870 in Pennsylvania. They originated with the intention to represent a builder's trademark, but since then have become more frequently used for aesthetic purposes.
